For the first time the Austin Film Festival is accepting both scripts for and web series themselves into competition this year.

The Late (and Final) Deadline is coming up soon on May 20 for AFF’s inaugural Scripted Digital Series Competition.

The Texas based festival is looking for talented filmmakers who can adapt their vision to emerging digital platforms in a serialized format. If you have a digital series in the works—either written or filmed—submit it!

Entrants that advance to the Semifinalist level will be asked to provide a treatment of their vision for the series and how subsequent episodes will unfold. For the competition’s first year, we’re bringing on board a variety of leaders in the digital media field. Already on our jury are Josh Poole, Director of Development at Above Average and Evan Bregman, Head of Original Content at Portal A.

The winner of the Scripted Digital Series Competition will receive a $1000 cash prize, AFF’s bronze typewriter statue, and reimbursement for travel and lodging. Additionally, all filmed series finalists will be screened publicly at the 2015 Festival.
