Premiering September 1st on Hulu, and two weeks later (Sept. 15th) on its official Youtube page, ANYONE BUT ME: THE LOST SCENES will bring viewers the further exploits of Aster and Vivian in a unique and creative way; one that continues their story while doing so in a manner that those new to the original series can easily appreciate.
“I was hired by an older English actress who lived in a one room studio in the heart of Hollywood by herself. Her husband was dead, all of her friends were dead, and she had no one. She was a lovely, complicated woman. And she was alone and frightened. I drove her to the market and to do errands and would make sure she had everything she needed and she would pay me what she called ‘mad money.’ And I needed that mad money at the time.”
“That was the most amazing feeling, because even though we come from such different places, we still have so much in common. It fueled my belief that young women’s stories deserve to be told.”
Floyd created the story of Blimpy, an overweight birthday clown reunited with his high school crush while performing at a party alongside his surly partner Giggles, as a member of North Hollywood’s 3ofaKind Theatre Company.
“One of the guiding themes of the series is that gamers can be normal cool people, too. I often find in gamer targeted media, that gamers and geeks are presented as odd or stereotypical with little to no social skills”
The series will feature guest appearances by internet meme (and 2016 presidential candidate) Vermin Supreme, who became a sensation when he “glitter bombed” one of the 2012 candidates.
“We wanted to create a show that remained faithful to Austen’s original characters, while at the same time allowing them to grow and evolve when placed in a very different setting,” series creator Jennifer Teska says.
