The series’ IndieGoGo crowd funding campaign is winding down, and is currently seeking $22,500 for production of season 2’s 9 episodes.
MOVIE NIGHT shows that no matter how different we all are & how quirky or odd we may be, the things that truly bring us together (like movies) have the power to transcend our differences
“I kept hearing about similar experiences and ‘New York’ characters from other friends and actors. I wanted to create a web series that captured these wacky experiences and people”
“One of the guiding themes of the series is that gamers can be normal cool people, too. I often find in gamer targeted media, that gamers and geeks are presented as odd or stereotypical with little to no social skills”
“However, this was the story that we wanted to tell, and that’s the beauty of making a web series. You can tell the story that’s in your heart without needing to ask permission.”
“As a horror series, we also explore many aspects of fear – both from external factors like monsters chasing you, and internal factors like being haunted by lost loves.”
With the huge success of season one, season two expands to ten thirty minute episodes, adds fifteen actors and grows to a $450 thousand budget.
The series will feature guest appearances by internet meme (and 2016 presidential candidate) Vermin Supreme, who became a sensation when he “glitter bombed” one of the 2012 candidates.
Females have been dramatically under represented in the media’s portrayal of geek culture, and among television show leads as well. AP Life looks to fill in both of those gaps with it’s largely female cast of geeky characters.
