“I had just completed a course in becoming a 911 dispatcher. Because I have no ability to take anything too seriously, I proposed the idea to Christy about combining the themes of the world ending with the worst 911 operator ever. She liked it and we were off running with our web series idea. The two character’s friendship was an outgrowth of our own, which was perfect as we both share the same droll sense of humor and surplus of moxie,” creators Lloyd and Holy.
Growing up as a lover of comic books it was only natural for creator Jeff Burns to adapt his web series, about a super hero and a super villain who have a love child, into comic book form.
“Our goal is to elaborate on these ideas: women whose stories can be the central one of a show, women moving in the world with agency. And so, from the start, as soon as we started to involve others in the series creation, there has been a real positive feedback loop that has magnified in scale as the project develops”
