I had a pretty cool chat today with Todd Birmingham, creator of ‘The Wig People.’ We watched his series – a story about a man who has visions of people wearing wigs – and talked about how our goals affect the way we approach a web series.

Last year I watched a sitcom that, by the end, proved to make for a compelling character drama. Now here we are with the review of season two of what has become a full fledge dramatic comedy.
For creator Aaron Garcia his vision was grand, and his budget non-existent. Rather than give up, his focus turned to what he could do, rather than what he couldn’t. The result is a prequel to his envisioned season one and a production that spanned two years.
This week I was treated to some real meat and potatoes, a show that calls itself a love story and which is able to deliver upon the deeper complexities of what that word actually means.
The best writing is always personal, and it’s those personal stories that have the chance to take viewers places that are very original yet human, and relatable.
I’m getting the impression that a lot of you out there hold the belief that problems are best solved by killing… or at least this is the second series I’ve seen where the main characters shared that line of reasoning.
