Don’t build a paywall, create a velvet rope instead
It’s easy for content providers to simply slap a paywall up on their product and ask customers for money or to get lost, but there is no way that is the best idea. Monetization on the web is scary difficult and no one has completely figured it out yet, but here is a different way of looking at the process that I believe will one day be the de facto method for premium video content on the web.
