There are several differences with this year’s awards. Most noticeably the date. The IAWTV Awards winner will be announce on April 15th as part of the NAB show, which is the biggest broadcasters conference in the world, held in Las Vegas. The awards this year will be held in the ballroom of the Westgate Hotel. For the first time the awards will have a theme: Pioneers. So while handing out trophies to the best of 2014, the IAWTV will also honor the roots of web series, including shows that came before any festivals or award shows. The IAWTV has added a few awards as well: Best Microbudget Series, Best Foreign Language Series, Best Children’s Series & Best Genre Series.

Carrie+Preston+IAWTV-Awards

In 2014, Carrie Preston (True Blood, The Good Wife) hosted and the show drew over 65,000 live viewers, plus many more after the fact, bringing great exposure for all of the nominated series. Nominations will be announced on March 3rd.

“The response to last year’s ceremony was phenomenal, so we’re really excited to take it up a notch once again.” sums up this year’s awards Executive Director Jonathan Robbins (ClutchOut With Dad.) “The awards get better every year and I want to continue in that direction.”

What hasn’t changed is the IAWTV’s partnership with New Media Expo, their commitment to excellence and their efforts to help their members. As Felicia Day (The Guild, the FLOG) says, “The IAWTV award epitomizes the true spirit of web content: celebrating independence and standout creativity outside traditional mainstream entertainment.”
